Anxiety & Stress Relief Yoga Therapy Series
(NEW DATES COMING SOON)
Everyone suffers from mild anxiety once in a while. Those who have experienced chronic anxiety understand how this drains mental and physical energy and keeps the body in a constant state of stress. In addition to stress, when the body is not exercised, the effects of anxiety are multiplied: tension builds in the muscles, breathing is restricted and the mind has no rest from the racing thoughts and feelings, further perpetuating the cycle of anxiety. The body and mind remain in fight or flight mode, depleting resources and leading towards lingering feelings of panic.

An appropriate Yoga practice will help you to establish and cultivate an inner strength and peace of mind. This strength, peace and confidence will allow you to face the sometimes-overwhelming fears, frustrations and challenges of everyday life.

Join Radhika Jenson Registered Advanced Ayurvedic Practitioner and Certified Yoga Instructor for a gentle and inclusive introductory series designed to calm your mind, relax your body, reduce anxiety and increase resilience to stress.

This series aims to reduce stress and anxiety in the body, emotions and mind. It will provide coping skills for daily life including a small daily routine of exercise, breathing and meditation.

Beginners as well as experienced Yoga students, will learn safe and effective breathing techniques used to activate the parasympathetic nervous system and regulate the stress response system. Students will practice restorative yoga poses to achieve deep rest and relaxation and release chronic tension. The combination of yoga asanas and pranayama breathing techniques flush the body and brain with fresh blood, oxygen and essential nutrients resulting in a deep feeling of relaxation, strength and well-being. Meditation and breathing practices which relax and focus the mind will help promote a calm mastery over the previously overwhelming surges of thoughts & emotions. Students will receive guidance, encouragement and support in order to integrate these crucial tools into daily life. Supportive Ayurvedic recommendations will be also be provided.
Pain Management Yoga Therapy Series
(NEW DATES COMING SOON)
“Behind every beautiful thing, there's some kind of pain.” -Bob Dylan

There is too much to be said about every kind of pain. Pain of the mind, emotional and physical, the pain of separation from the spiritual. We all suffer. For those of us who suffer from chronic pain, it’s all at once. Pain is the opposite of union, the goal of Yoga. Pain is separation, division, distraction and inertia. Yoga offers connection, awareness, acceptance and expansion.

Yoga and the various practices of meditation, pranayama, asana, bandha and Ayurvedic  sciences, when practiced regularly and applied appropriately, offer liberation from the anguish of pain.

In this short introductory series, Shaughn Jenson, Registered Advanced Ayurvedic Practitioner and Certified Yoga Instructor offer students a balanced approach of Ayurvedic Yoga Therapy techniques for pain management.

Students will receive postural assessments and Ayurvedic analysis in order to customize the class for each individual.

This series is suitable for students of all ages and any level of pain, if any. Ayurvedic techniques including herbal, lifestyle, marma therapy and ayurvedic massage recommendations will be offered in addition to the practice of Yoga poses, breath & muscle control practices and guided meditation.

Shaughn will use his personal experiences in healing chronic pain including scoliosis, sciatica, lordosis, slipped disk, sports injuries and chronic headache to discuss and demonstrate various effective and lasting techniques.

Heart Healing Yoga Therapy Series
(NEW DATES COMING SOON)
“It's the heart, not the mind that sustains us” -D&J Peoples

Healing the heart is no small matter. From the very palpable and fearsome reality of heart disease being the main cause of death next to cancer, to the wrenching pains of emotional turmoil, the heart has a lot to bear. For someone who has been through a bout of either, healing of the heart is not only a good idea, but perhaps a requisite.

A large number of medical studies show that yoga benefits many aspects of cardiovascular health. This body of work suggests that yoga may reduce high blood pressure as well as heart rate; lower cardiovascular risk factors such as cholesterol levels, blood sugar, and stress hormones; improve symptoms of heart failure and metabolic syndrome; enhance cardiac rehabilitation; ease palpitations and reduced the frequency of atrial fibrillation episodes; improve exercise capacity and quality of life; lower blood levels of markers for inflammation, which contributes to heart disease; improve balance, reduce falls, ease arthritis, and improve breathing for people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

In this short introductory series, Shaughn Jenson, Registered Advanced Ayurvedic Practitioner and Certified Yoga Instructor will guide students through a series of Yoga exercises including asana, pranayama, mudra, bandha and Ayurvedic recommendations to help support, strengthen and heal the heart and cardiovascular system and associated psycho-emotional impressions. Students will learn the basic practices required to establish a daily home routine for continuing benefits.

After just 4 weeks of daily practice, you may see a dramatic increase in exercise functionality and blood pressure and cholesterol levels may decrease. (If you have heart disease, diabetes or are obese, check with your doctor before starting a yoga program).
